So I have failed once again to maintain my blog. Its nice, however, I don't always have the time for it. Maybe if I tried to do it mobile it would work. Who knows. Anywho, small update.
I got a new job as a sales assistant for this company and I like it. I finally got what I was looking for - the office 9-5. I have my own desk and everything! And it feels good. I feel like its a good fit. I get along with the people I work with and my efforts are appreciated. This is what I have been waiting for. I just need to keep up the hard work to move up. I'm on the job as a temp - long time - but still temp. I'm hoping to be made permanent in the company and possibly be paid salary. That's the next step. One thing at a time. But its a good start.
I think I should have a 5 year plan, but I will start with 3 years. I'm not much of a planner. But in the next 3 years, I want to get my drivers license (I know I'm a loser for still not having it, esp at my age :'( but soon!) I would like to be at a decent salary mid 40's - 50's, have a new apartment, be engaged/married (no big rush on that, but it would be nice), pay off more bills, and have a decent amount in savings. Possibly also have a more defined idea of what I want my career to be, but at this point, I'm just happy to be working and making decent money. I'm thankful for that, as not many people are as fortunate.
Progress so far - almost nil. I have, however, made some headway in paying off my bills, so possibly in the next 3 years could be close to paying it off. As for savings, I am proud of myself that I have something to show for myself. I didn't squander all of my money on meaningless things. Although I did splurge on myself quite a bit. I deserve it!
Oh and maybe I can be more refined as a lady. LOL Big steps. I'm still trying to make myself more office presentable, as hard as that may be with our casual office. You know, stop with the jeans and T-shirts. Dress up a little, be more lady-esque. Experiment, live a little. Sheeiitttt I just spent bucket loads on make up, so I will be trying more (not that I need it :-P ) But I will be more presentable, and less hoodrat as the Mr likes to say I am. I will embrace my inner goddess!
And on that note.. I am off this joint because I don't even believe myself..

Finally Realizing Something..
And the light bulb has gone off.. Ding! After the 10,000th argument discussion with the Mister about this one specific topic that has been plaguing us for some time now, I had an epiphany. Or so to speak. But I did figure out one or two things about myself that I should have learned a long time ago. But anyway now that I have realized this, the next step is to figure out how to deal with it without killing our relationship. Let me go a few steps back to what "it" is.
I have always been very stubborn and set on doing things my way and learning for myself and here it is. As I mentioned before, I have quite a bit of growing up to do. I pay bills, go to work, have limited responsibilities, but that does not make me an adult or grown up. Not completely. I am still dependent on others in some aspects. I have not fully made myself independent, nor do I really know how to. (I'm beginning to ramble a bit here, forgive me.) Facts are facts though. I need to be more independent and know what its like to really be on my own. My mom threw me out of her house, and I moved in with him. No questions asked, without a second thought. Now I realize it was not the best thing to do. Funny, but for as psycho as my ex was, he did make a valid point to me one time and I now see how true it is. He told me there was going to be a point in my life where I needed to make that journey of self discovery and need to be on my own. I laughed at him then and thought he was spitting bullshit, but I know now that it is true. I've never lived alone, or had any real alone time. On my days off, I do errands, run around like a chicken with its head cut off. I make plans for every second of spare time I have, but I don't sleep and always complain that I'm tired. And then I wonder why I'm stressed. It's a self hating cycle. And I'm done with it. I do not like the way things are, or the person that I am right now. I feel like I was doing better and now I slipped up and have to go to rehab. I've lost the little sliver of the person I was discovering. Time to switch things up and become a better person, not for anyone else, but for me. Although I think quite a few people would benefit from a more relaxed and calm Lori. LOL
Anyway.... point of this all - I need ME time, to gather myself, take a step back from everything and just do the things that make me happy. Its sad that I don't even know what makes me happy anymore. But there are solutions on the horizon. Coming back to blogging helps, even if no one reads this. Its for me, I can look back at this and just reflect and think about the things that I have been through and see how much (if anything) has changed and keep at it. The blog is like a little reminder of things to work on without making it work. If that makes sense. But I'm 1000% sure that after I get my new schedule for work, the first thing I'm going to do is plan and take a vacation. I need one for sure. I've never appreciated or understood how important stuff like this is, but now that I do, I will be doing it more frequently. And I'm definitely going to make it mandatory. Maybe 2x a year if I can afford it. But then again sometimes a "stay-cation" is all I may need. Shoot, I bought a Groupon for a massage and have yet to cash in on it. I will definitely do that ASAP. Maybe even have spa days once a month for good measure. Sometimes you just gotta treat yourself. Besides if you don't, who will?
All in all, I will be taking some more measures to be more relaxed and stress free. It might just make me slightly more tolerable to be around.
This is kind of longer than I wanted it to be, so I will stop here. Through all this jumble, there was only one thing here. I will think on the other things I thought about to see if they are blog appropriate.
Later folks.

It's Been A Long Time..
Well well well, look at what we have here. I decided to actually check my blog out when I clicked my link to see if it was still active and that they hadn't disabled it from long term non-use. (is that even a word?) Anyway, lo and behold the link still works! And as I scrolled through and read some of my older posts, I had to laugh. The things I wrote about as I tried to be a "mature" young adult seem so trivial compared to the things that have been going on more recently. Yet some of the problems I faced before still plague me to this day, mainly my relationship with my now estranged mother. It seems that through my earlier posts, I can see the change in my behaviors (although minimal) and the growth in my character, to the person I am today. I am nowhere near being a grown adult, but have come quite a way from the emerging young adult I was when I started blogging. Or at least that's how I'd like to look at it.
Here's a quick run down on how I am now:
I'm now 24, will be 25 in October (such a big age difference!)
I no longer live at home with my mom, but I do not live on my own. I reside with Mr. Man, and have been for about a year or so.
I also no longer speak to my mother, as she has verifiably (is that also a word?) disowned me for reasons that will be spoken about at a later date. (possibly)
I am now up to a total of 9 tattoos and am on a hiatus, although I have felt the itch to get another one, I have no actual desire - nor do I have a design in mind.
I did finally graduate and receive my BA, however I still have no career, and am still muddling my way through life, but with great plans for the future.
I am slowly weaning myself off of FB and am determined to delete my twitter very soon, and eventually become less social network addicted (as most are in my generation).
I have a lot to do to get my life together! But it is very necessary, and I will overcome the seemingly many obstacles there are.
Updates soon I suppose.. Don't hold your breath. (I'm sure you weren't)
